Test Engineer - Journeyman

Role Overview

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Test Engineer (Journeyman) to support software evaluation and test activities for national defense missions. The Test Engineer will work closely with developers and engineers to plan, execute, automate, and document testing across a mission-focused software development environment.

What You Will Do

Develop test plans, test cases, and test procedures based on user stories, requirements, and mission needs. Execute manual and automated test processes to evaluate software functionality, reliability, and user experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in developmental testing
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong requirements synthesis, development, and requirements traceability skills
• Core competency with software scripting
• Experience performing requirements analysis, synthesis, and traceability for shall statement and supplemental fields evaluation, including test method and success criteria
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience architecting complex systems in Model-Based Systems Engineering, including CAMEO or Rhapsody
• Knowledge of DoD Instructions 5000.87 and 5000.89
• Ability to develop and execute detailed test procedures for Developmental and Operational Test Events
• Ability to build automated test scripts and custom harnesses using a tool such as Python or Cypress
