Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients in the Jails, including responding to emergencies, first aid, and CPR during emergency response.
Requirements
- Possession of a license, and a current registration, issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of support staff in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions of a technical and professional nature in exact detail and to administer therapeutic treatments prescribed by a physician
- Ability to recognize and interpret symptoms and make assessments
- Ability to instruct subordinates and other people in basic nursing care
- Ability to deal with each patient sympathetically and tactfully, while at the same time carry out the treatment prescribed for them
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
- Must be punctual, professional, and dress appropriately
