At Suncor, we produce and provide energy. As an Intermediate Geochemist/ Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will play a key role in assessing, monitoring, and mitigating geochemical and environmental impacts associated with oil sands mining.
Requirements
- Conduct geochemical and environmental characterization of oil sands tailings, overburden, and waste materials
- Design and implement field sampling programs for water, tailings, soil, and sediment
- Analyze and interpret geochemical and environmental data
- Develop and apply geochemical and solute transport models to predict environmental impacts and inform mine plans
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory submissions, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Support reclamation and closure plans by evaluating geochemical and environmental risks and recommending closure strategies
