Student Success Counselor position available at SUNY Ulster County Community College. The Counselor will provide counseling and advising on complex issues regarding student academic progress and wellness, manage a caseload of students, and support students in accessing community-based resources. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in education, student development, social work, or a related field, and two years of experience in advising, student recruitment/retention, case management, or related student services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in education, student development, social work, or a related field
- Two years of experience in advising, student recruitment/retention, case management, or related student services
- Proven track record of supporting students or clients in overcoming personal or academic challenges
- Experience with programs and strategies to support first-generation, low-income, non-traditional, minoritized, and at-risk students
- Experience utilizing technology for day-to-day tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong information technology literacy skills
