Swiftly is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional product team that builds the real-time operational tools transit agencies rely on every day. The team owns Live Operations, GPS Playback, and an expanding suite of communication and coordination capabilities that connect dispatchers, operators, and field supervisors. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in engineering team leadership and people management, with a track record of developing engineers and building high-performing teams. They should bring deep familiarity with modern web technologies, real-time data systems, and map-based applications.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in engineering team leadership and people management
- Proven experience guiding teams toward outcomes and delivering end-to-end products in cloud-based SaaS environments
- Broad experience across the stack (frontend, backend, data)
- Familiarity with real-time data systems, including technologies like WebSockets, pub/sub architectures, or streaming data pipelines
- Experience with map-based or geospatial web applications
- Comfortable applying modern AI tools and techniques in the software development lifecycle to accelerate development
- Strong ability to support team execution by clarifying goals, breaking down work effectively, and managing competing priorities across multiple product surfaces
