As a Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in launching new products and developing, industrializing, and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies. You will be responsible for managing New projects while supporting Existing initiatives/Projects, performing risk analysis and mitigation, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Analyze new technologies and manufacturing processes; plan, evaluate, and assess feasibility for new and existing automation projects.
- Apply strong troubleshooting and failure‐analysis skills using structured problem‐solving methodologies such as DMAIC, 5 Whys, 8D, and other root‐cause analysis tools.
- Work closely with local plant resources and cross‐functional teams to execute deliverables aligned with the NPD Phase Gate process.
- Provide DFM/DFA feedback during early product design stages to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
- Conduct Process FMEAs (PFMEA) and implement robust mitigation strategies for high‐risk items.
- Utilize manufacturing engineering tools to support process development and qualification, including capability studies, sample builds, and First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Collaborate with cross‐functional teams on cost estimation for new product concepts.
- Design, develop, and deploy manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to launch new products with world‐class cost performance.
- Manage vendors for installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment; coordinate with vendors and CFT for full process qualification.
- Lead new project conceptualization, machine design and development, machine buy‐off, and qualification activities.
- Develop new manufacturing processes and create comprehensive process documentation including PFC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs, based on deep understanding of product requirements.
- Prepare and optimize cycle time analysis and capital investment for new products; continuously drive cost reduction through process optimization and automation.
- Perform capacity and layout planning and execute manufacturing line setups for new products and projects.
- Support manufacturing operations through continuous improvement initiatives, quality issue resolution, new product launches, engineering changes, and lessons learned.
- Develop and implement systems to optimize all phases of production while conducting detailed root‐cause analysis for operational issues.
- Review product designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommend changes to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
