Role Overview

Join Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska as a Senior Software Engineer - Applied AI to work on a mission-driven organization dedicated to championing the health and well-being of members and communities. The team is building an AI platform to change the health insurance experience, and you'll shape the design and growth of this platform.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary focus will be on agent design and orchestration, including multi-agent orchestration layer, agent integration contract, context management across turns, guardrail and safety layer, RAG pipeline architecture, and prompt architecture.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have experience with agentic AI in production, building and operating production LLM or agentic AI systems, and strong knowledge of Python. You'll work in an existing codebase and extend it with the AI layer, and the team uses Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Container Apps as the target stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 4-7 years of experience in software engineering
• Experience with agentic AI in production
• 2–3 years building and operating production LLM or agentic AI systems
• Strong knowledge of Python
