Certified surgical technician providing intra-operative support. Maintains constant vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field. Prepares operating rooms for surgery and participates in department performance improvement activities.
Requirements
- Utilizes written individualized Physician Preference Card for surgical procedure
- Coordinates with circulating nurse for supplies, equipment, and instruments
- Conducts and documents sponge, instrument, and needle counts
- Handles and labels specimens
