Certified Surgical Tech (CST)

The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. They are responsible for setting up equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies, as well as scrubbing and passing instruments during procedures.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role
• Aseptic technique
• Setting up equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies
• Scrubbing and passing instruments during procedures
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need
• Performing other duties as assigned
