Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine exams, verifies patient identity, and reviews medical records. Explains procedures to patients and sets up equipment. Reviews images and communicates data to radiologists.
Requirements
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
- Analytical and clinical skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical knowledge to operate equipment
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment
- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients
