Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Our organization is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities to develop skills, exercise choices, and achieve life goals. The DSP role involves assisting with daily living skills, providing hobbies/recreation support, and quickly responding to emergencies. DSPs should possess strong communication skills and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

• Demonstrates a positive attitude towards working with individuals with Disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Assist with daily living skills (personal hygiene, food prep, etc.).
• Provide support and encourage skill development.
• Respond to emergencies effectively and according to safety plan requirements.
• Acquire and maintain required certifications.
• Ability to lift (50lbs) and assist physically.
• Valid NY driver's license (preferred)
