North Hawaii Community Hospital (NHCH) is seeking a skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to provide primary surgical and ongoing patient care in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
- Conducts patient examinations to assess medical conditions and determine surgical risk
- Reviews medical history, medications, allergies, and physical condition to assess the most appropriate surgical or treatment plan
- Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and deformities using invasive, minimally invasive, or nonâinvasive surgical methods
- Orders, interprets, and utilizes diagnostic tests in creating treatment plans
- Prescribes preâ and postâoperative treatments, including medications, diets, and woundâcare procedures
- Communicates clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, test results, and planâofâcare decisions
- Leads and collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Refers patients to specialists or other practitioners when appropriate
- Monitors patient progress, documents all care activity, and ensures compliance with NHCH, regulatory, and governmental guidelines
- Collaborates with practice management to support accurate billing, coding, and CPT documentation
- Provides surgical consultation and support to fellow surgeons and physicians
- Participates in hospital onâcall coverage and responds timely to consults and emergencies
- Contributes to quality improvement initiatives, medical staff committees, and development of clinical protocols
- Demonstrates and upholds QHS core values of compassion, aloha, respect, and excellence
- Ensures patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Maintains positive and professional relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues
- Manages OR time efficiently and supports workflow of surgical services
- Performs other duties as assigned
