The Vice President of Broker Dealer and Middle Office Operations will lead a team responsible for the clearing, settlement, and operational management of municipal, preferred, and taxable fixed income securities for Nuveen's Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) business.
Requirements
- Oversee daily clearing and settlement of municipal bond trades through the Nuveen Securities broker-dealer, ensuring accurate delivery of block trade and client allocation instructions to custodians, sponsors, and dealers.
- Supervise DVP settlement of preferred stocks and taxable fixed income securities, coordinating with counterparties, custodians, and sponsor programs within industry standards.
- Serve as primary contact for regulators and auditors, maintaining documentation and producing evidence to support operational decisions.
- Lead resolution of routine and complex trade errors including cancel-rebills, reallocations, resolving short positions and Prime Broker set ups.
- Leverage industry experience to navigate the complex landscape of Wirehouses, IBDs, TAMPs and RIAs.
- Build and mentor a skilled team capable of critical thinking through complex situations, ensuring comprehensive cross-training and developing succession capabilities.
- Lead operational implementation for new platform launches, collaborating with technology teams, dealers, custodians, and RIAs to establish proper setup and avoid settlement disruptions.
