Backend Engineer - Application Computing (Data + AI)

The Recommendation Architecture Data Platform (Offline Computing) Team at TikTok is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and develop offline computing systems for large-scale recommendation systems powering products with over 1 billion users. This role focuses on system stability, high availability, and building unified recommendation feature and sample platforms, along with flexible and scalable storage systems. The team addresses paradigm shifts in recommendation systems, especially in the era of large models.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Deep understanding of big data computing systems
• Hands-on experience with Flink, Spark, Paimon, Velox
• Familiarity with machine learning technology stacks (PyTorch, LLMs, multimodal systems)
• Practical experience with features and samples in search, advertising, and recommendation systems
• Strong coding and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Scala, or Python
