Software Engineer (L2) Segment Team

We are seeking a Software Engineer (L2) to join our Segment Team. As a Software Engineer, you will design and build robust, scalable backend systems and APIs across Segment’s data platform. You will collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and other engineers to define solutions that balance usability, performance, and long-term architecture.

Requirements

• Design and build robust, scalable backend systems and APIs across Segment’s data platform
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and other engineers to define solutions
• Communicate technical decisions clearly and articulate trade-offs, customer impact, and team alignment
• Troubleshoot and improve system reliability, debugging issues and refining operational tooling and processes
• Participate in an on-call rotation for our managed services
