The Network L2 Engineer will support, manage, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments, handling advanced troubleshooting, implementing network changes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure and resilient network.
Requirements
- Perform L2-level support for LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN operations, ensuring network uptime, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VRRP/HSRP, and other L2/L3 protocols.
- Provide 2nd-tier support for escalated network and firewall incidents across enterprise environments.
- Diagnose and resolve cloud connectivity and network-related issues, ensuring minimum downtime and high-quality service delivery.
- Support enterprise security infrastructure including firewalls, security appliances, and NAC (Network Access Control) solutions.
- Manage NAC operations such as device onboarding, authentication, profiling, and policy enforcement.
- Ensure compliance with network security standards, configuration baselines, and audit requirements.
- Participate in firewall upgrades, rule reviews, and configuration changes.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi infrastructure, including wireless controllers, access points, RF optimization, and end-user connectivity issues.
- Execute network changes as per ITIL processes, covering change requests, incident handling, and problem management.
- Work closely with L1 and L3 teams to ensure efficient escalation, resolution, and closure of incidents.
- Monitor network performance and health using tools such as SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, or similar platforms.
- Maintain updated network documentation, diagrams, configuration backups, inventory, and knowledge base articles.
- Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects across firewalls, routers, core/distribution/access switches, and data center platforms.
- Support modernization initiatives involving Cisco Nexus, ACI, cloud networking, and other emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve network performance, scalability, and security posture.
