Student Worker- ASUN Director of Government Affairs

The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is seeking a Director of Government Affairs to provide non-partisan advice to the President and frame recommendations for the President to advance student interests. The Director will coordinate with the Director of Governmental Relations for the University of Nevada and attend Committee on Democratic Civic Engagement meetings. The position requires strong writing and policy analysis skills, ability to cultivate relationships with students, student clubs, and policymakers, and excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment.

Requirements

• Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 undergraduate credits
• Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
• Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct
• Meet all deadlines set forth
• Attend all required meetings and training
• Work scheduled hours
• Properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time
• Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada
• Behave in a manner that is ethical, maintaining a high level of integrity
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically and culturally diverse people and communities
• Budgeting experience
• Proficient at leading a cohesive team
