Requirements
- Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them.
- Responsible for maintaining weekly chart reviews.
- Lead fellow therapist(s) in a professional and courteous patient care.
- Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them.
- Responsible for maintaining shift reports.
- Responsible for the initial patient scheduling.
- Monitors ICD 10 coding for the CPC.
- Takes lead on machine (calibration).
- Coordinates service calls as necessary.
- Collaborates with the Chief Radiation Therapist to implement clinical treatment techniques and procedure as necessary.
- Accurately and efficiently reviews and/or administers daily prescribed Radiation Therapy treatments to patients assigned to the treatment unit at a speed consistent with patient scheduling.
- Observes and adheres to all department policies concerning Radiation Therapy treatment procedures.
- Prepares room and equipment for patient by gathering all necessary equipment, supplies, and setup devices.
- Sets appropriate treatment unit parameters.
- Activates the treatment unit and delivers the prescribed dose of radiation.
- Maintains visual and/or audible communication with the patient during treatment.
- Obtains appropriate port films on patients when prescribed; makes adjustments in field placement as needed.
- Throughout the course of Radiation Therapy, monitors patients for unusual reactions and events, and reports same to Clinical Director and Radiation Oncologist.
- Keeps immobilization devices in a clean and orderly manner and utilize the devices as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Keeps records of machine down time and maintains machine fault list report.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
