Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer works across business segments to align mechanical design tools, approaches, and implementations for the Vertiv organization. The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling the activities of a team of approximately 10 Mechanical Engineers in Pune, India. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for working with various LOB engineering teams as an advocate for common tools and practices, while also actively seeking opportunities for the Mechanical Engineering Center Of Excellence team to provide value through mechanical design work, tools conversion, and process alignment.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent required
• MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or an MBA, preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical design for critical infrastructure systems
• Demonstrated success in leading teams to accomplish project implementations on time, on budget, and with high quality
• 4+ years of design experience with a modern MCAD package required
• 4+ years of design experience with CREO preferred
• Experience leading distributed teams
• Experience leading teams based in either India or China, preferred
• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required (estimated 10% of time outside the Columbus, OH area)
• Solid communications skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English
