Optical Product Development Engineer

VIAVI is a global provider of network test, monitoring and assurance solutions. We are seeking an optical engineer to develop optical test and measurement equipment for research labs and manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering Physics
• Familiarity with laser physics and optical amplifiers
• Familiarity with optical test equipment, metrology, and calibration methods
• Software development or scripting experience in Python
• Proven ability to model optical systems and migrate the design into manufacturing
• Experience with vendor interaction and selection
• Hands-on experience with various testing equipment and the ability to develop and set up testing solutions and automation
