The VITAS Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and services to hospice patients, augmenting care provided by family members or other caregivers. HHA assignments include assisting with hygiene, meal preparation, ambulation, treatments, and emotional support. The HHA's primary role is to ensure patient safety and comfort by carrying out assigned tasks and documenting observations.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Meet personnel qualifications of a Home Health Aide as specified in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.4 and Section 484.36.
- Documented evidence of 75 hours of training.
- Documented evidence of successfully completing a Competency Evaluation.
- State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI, CA, CHHA, CT, Homeemaker-Home Health Aide, IL, HHA, NA, KS).
