VITAS Home Health Aides (HHA) provide personal care to hospice patients to augment family member care. Their duties include performing hygiene tasks, preparing meals, assisting with ambulation, providing treatments, and documenting patient status. They receive training and may perform duties not explicitly stated in the assignment.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 and Section 484.36(a)(1).
- State Allowable Training/Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift and transfer patients
- Ability to travel (depending on the position)
