Custodian

Role Overview

The Custodian is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment throughout Virginia Union University’s facilities. This role includes performing general cleaning duties, minor maintenance tasks, and supporting a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

What You Will Do

Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces daily. Perform minor maintenance tasks, assist with setting up tables and equipment for events, and perform regular inspections of assigned areas.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Prior custodial or cleaning experience is preferred but not required. Ability to lift 50 pounds, perform repetitive tasks, and work on feet for extended periods. Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with OSHA standards.
