Perform electrical work at the journeyman's level, including installing, maintaining, altering, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Plan, layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
• Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits
• Use a variety of tools or equipment
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
• Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools
• Perform physically demanding tasks
• Troubleshoot electrical circuit faults
• Repair power circuits and repair or replace motors
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits
• Troubleshoot fire alarm systems, smoke & heat detectors, home and speakers
• Perform new electrical construction & renovation
• Layout and install data & phone conduits
