Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer to ensure the quality and conformity of welds in their plant located in Monfalcone, Italy. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the role, a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, and excellent knowledge of the English language.
Requirements
- Adopt an ethical approach to work and conduct in line with the philosophy of Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Organize and coordinate weld testing activities for procedures and mock-ups.
- In-depth use of applicable codes and various welding processes, adopting an attitude and showing competence to manage and organize various activities on different orders.
- Create prototypes aimed at designing and validating new welding solutions.
- Use the fundamentals of industrial process engineering applied to welding procedures.
- Implement robotics in welding activities.
- Supervise laboratory mechanical tests necessary to validate qualifications and procedures.
- Know the ASME / EN / RCC-M codes and main ASTM and EN standards that regulate mechanical tests, laboratory tests, and various welding procedures and related materials.
- Issue welding procedures / welder qualifications and technical documentation (WB – WPS / PQR) in accordance with applicable codes and standards imposed by clients.
- Select materials for each order based on what is provided by codes / standards / contractual specifications, demonstrating a detailed knowledge of different welding materials in accordance with joint design and manufacturing solutions.
