
Job description
The Utility Operator will work under supervision to operate and inspect power plant systems, including boilers and equipment. They will monitor and inspect auxiliary equipment, read and interpret data, and perform sampling and treatment tasks. The role requires mechanical skills, knowledge of power plant equipment, and ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.
The Utility Operator will be responsible for safe and efficient operations of assigned equipment, monitoring and inspecting boiler plant auxiliary equipment, reading and interpreting data, and performing sampling and treatment tasks. They may also operate mobile equipment, refuse cranes, and fire extinguishing equipment.
The ideal candidate will have mechanical skills, knowledge of power plant equipment, and ability to work overtime and rotating shifts. They must also be able to maintain a positive work environment and work well with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
