Senior Systems Engineer

Role Overview

Xylem is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Private Cloud Data Center Operations team. In this role, you will design, support, and enhance the critical software, servers, and infrastructure that power Xylem’s Private Cloud Data Centers.

What You Will Do

Support and collaborate with peer teams on enterprise storage, automation, and data center technologies to drive platform upgrades and orchestration initiatives. Lead and participate in infrastructure deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting across storage, backups, disaster recovery, monitoring, networking, and virtualization platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise‐grade infrastructure and applications in an operational environment
• 4+ years of hands‐on experience with enterprise storage, SAN, Windows Server, and Cisco UCS technologies, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting
• 4+ years of experience supporting VMware environments across multiple data center locations
• 2+ years of experience administering automation tools in an enterprise environment
• 2+ years of experience administering enterprise monitoring platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting and technical documentation
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage workload with minimal supervision
