The Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS) will perform various tasks including leading the identification and facilitation of community inclusion activities, providing guidance to program staff, and implementing Behavior Support Plans. The ABIS will also be responsible for gathering and collecting data required to conduct formal and informal behavioral and habilitative assessments, and will serve as a lead trainer for weekend staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or closely related Human Services discipline
- At least six (6) months of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)
- Ability to meet essential physical demands of position including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching with hands and arms
- Ability to remain calm, act assertively and display professional competence and good judgment in stressful situations
- Proficiency with computers and electronic systems including email, utilizing Workday and/or related systems
