Job Description
The After School Program Tutor position at the Y supports the site’s work in strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role involves providing positive relationships with parents, children, school personnel, and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment. The position emphasizes a culture of welcoming, inclusivity, and genuine support of both staff and program participants.
Requirements
- Establish positive relationships with parents, children, school personnel and other staff members.
- Be a positive role model.
- Connect with District School Teachers to review tutoring needs of students.
- Tutor assists the Site Director or Multi-Site Director in planning and implementing program curriculum and lesson plans.
- Actively support and participate in YMCA functions.
- Attend required staff meetings and provide input.
- Record-keeping, maintaining first aid supplies, and adhering to workplace policies.
- Report suspicious behavior.
