Aecon is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical Design to oversee a team of designers and junior engineers, ensuring quality, consistency, and on-time delivery of design packages for utility clients. The role involves day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and direction to the team, as well as completing or reviewing design calculations and drawings that satisfy all applicable code and regulatory requirements.
Requirements

- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team of designers, technicians, and junior engineers
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor design workload to ensure efficient workflow and meet project deadlines
- Provide design training and guidance to junior staff along with the Project Engineer
- Complete or review design calculations and drawings that satisfy all applicable code and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of schedules, estimates, and construction packages
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients
- Strong presentation skills, both written and oral, are considered a requirement
- Strong computer skills required – experience with AutoCAD software, MicroStation, and 3-D software an asset
- Conduct performance feedback, support professional development, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the design team
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards across all design deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, engineering, and project management, to ensure design alignment with project goals
