Requirements
- Develops and implements opto-mechanical concepts high performance imaging and/or illumination optics, including tolerancing, alignment and automated mechanisms.
- Participates in all aspects of the design cycle from specification development, design, supplier support, part verification, and integration.
- Identifies and troubleshoots a wide range of complex mechanical problems with limited to no supervision.
- Leads or executes engineering projects, including the development of key suppliers.
- Develops, designs, or modifies engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications of complex scope.
- Communicates with internal and external customers regarding a wide range of complex mechanical issues for specific projects.
- Designs, develops and implements custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes; enables the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies; establishes standards across operational processes.
- Generates product specifications.
- Defines, coordinates, performs and generates engineering test reports; specifies and reviews engineering documentation; specifies or performs complex engineering analysis.
- Clearly communicates complex concepts and influences various perspectives.
