Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Flok LLC, which operates Hirebase ("Hirebase", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your use of the Service described below.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you accept these Terms for that organization and confirm that you are authorized to do so. In that case, "you" means the organization. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you have signed an order form or enterprise agreement with us, it applies together with these Terms and controls where the two conflict.

2. The Service

The "Service" means everything Hirebase provides, including:

  • the Hirebase website (www.hirebase.org) and web app (app.hirebase.org);
  • the Hirebase API, including job, company, insights, salary, historical data and Hiring Manager (contact) endpoints;
  • Hirebase SDKs, our MCP server and other developer tools;
  • data exports and datasets; and
  • Hirebase actors and integrations offered through third-party marketplaces such as Apify.

"Hirebase Data" means the job listings, company information, contact information, salary and market insights, and any other data you receive through the Service.

If you use Hirebase through a third-party marketplace, that marketplace's terms govern your account and payments there. These Terms govern your use of the Hirebase Data you receive.

3. Accounts and API keys

  • You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
  • You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. Each person or organization may hold only one free account.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Keep your credentials and keys confidential. They may be used only by you and by your employees and contractors acting on your behalf.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account or an API key has been used without your permission.

4. Your licence to use Hirebase Data

While your account is in good standing, and subject to these Terms and the limits of your plan, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable licence to:

  • access Hirebase Data through the Service;
  • display Hirebase Data, including publicly, in your own websites, apps and products in any country;
  • integrate, reformat, filter and combine Hirebase Data with other data in your products and internal systems;
  • store and cache Hirebase Data on your own systems or those of your service providers; and
  • use Hirebase Data for internal analysis, research and other business purposes.

Attribution is not required, though a "Powered by Hirebase" link is appreciated.

Job listings change and close often. If you display listings to others, refresh them regularly and remove a listing promptly once it has closed. The expired jobs feed is available on every plan for this purpose.

You may not:

  • sell, license or redistribute Hirebase Data as raw data, a dataset, a file, a feed or an API, or otherwise give third parties bulk access to it;
  • sublicense your rights, except to service providers acting on your behalf;
  • use Hirebase Data to build or improve a database, data product or API that competes with Hirebase;
  • let users of your product bulk download, scrape or export Hirebase Data; or
  • alter listings in a way that misrepresents the employer, role, pay or requirements.

Personal use. If you use the web app as a job seeker, you may use Hirebase Data for your own job search and other personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use requires an API plan.

One-off purchases. Datasets you buy as a one-off purchase, such as historical data exports, may be kept and used under this section after any subscription ends.

Ownership. We and our licensors own the Service, including our software, database, design and the Hirebase name and logo. Except for the licence in this section, these Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service or Hirebase Data. Job listings themselves remain the content of the employers that published them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

5. Hiring Manager and contact data

Some Hirebase Data identifies real people, such as the names, job titles, work email addresses and phone numbers of hiring managers, recruiters and other professionals ("Contact Data"). We source Contact Data from publicly available professional information, such as job postings, company websites and public professional profiles, and from licensed third-party data providers. Our Privacy Policy describes how we process it and how individuals can access, correct or remove their information.

If you receive Contact Data, you:

  • act as an independent controller of it and are responsible for having a lawful basis for each use;
  • will comply with all applicable data protection, privacy and marketing laws, including the GDPR, the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), CAN-SPAM, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and US state privacy laws;
  • will provide any privacy notice the law requires, include a working opt-out in every marketing message, honour opt-outs promptly and respect do-not-call and similar registries;
  • will use Contact Data only for professional, business-to-business purposes relevant to the person's role, such as recruiting, partnership or sales outreach;
  • will not use Contact Data for spam, harassment, stalking, discrimination or bulk unsolicited messaging;
  • will not use Contact Data to decide a person's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing or similar purposes. Hirebase is not a consumer reporting agency, and Contact Data is not a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
  • will not sell, rent or share Contact Data with third parties, except service providers acting on your behalf; and
  • will keep Contact Data secure, retain it only as long as you need it, and delete a person's data promptly if they ask you to or if we tell you they have asked us to remove it.

Contact Data can be inaccurate or out of date. Verify it before relying on it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share, sell or publish your API keys, or let anyone outside your organization use your account;
  • exceed or work around rate limits, quotas or plan limits, including by creating multiple accounts or rotating keys;
  • scrape, crawl or automate the website or web app, or systematically extract data from any part of the Service in order to replicate the Hirebase dataset;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code of the Service, including our MCP server, except where an open-source licence (such as the MIT licence of our Python SDK) or applicable law allows it;
  • probe or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our permission, interfere with its operation, or introduce malware;
  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or discriminatory purpose, including fake job postings or employment scams; or
  • infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others.

We may suspend or limit your access, without prior notice where reasonably necessary, if you breach these Terms, a payment fails, your use risks harm to the Service, other customers, individuals or us, or the law requires it. Where practical, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.

7. Plans, billing and renewals

  • Plans, prices, included quotas and overage rates are listed on our pricing page or in your order form. Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which you pay where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • Renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual billing period and are charged to your payment method on file until you cancel.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Quotas. Usage is counted by records returned, not by request. For example, each job returned by a search, export or lookup counts as one job, and repeated retrievals count again. Unused allowances do not roll over.
  • Hard limits. Some allowances are hard limits, such as jobs and companies on the Free and Starter plans. Requests beyond a hard limit are paused until the allowance resets at the start of your next billing period or you upgrade.
  • Overage. Where your plan lists an overage rate for an allowance, usage beyond it is billed at that rate on your next invoice. Pay-as-you-go items, such as Hiring Manager searches and contact reveals, are billed at the published rates.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately, and the price difference is prorated on your next invoice.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend paid features until it is paid.
  • Refunds. Fees are non-refundable, except for duplicate charges, paid exports that fail (which are refunded automatically), a paid service we discontinue (see section 8), or where the law requires a refund. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Changes to the Service, prices and these Terms

  • We regularly improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid service you are using, or discontinue it, we will give you at least 30 days' notice. If we discontinue a paid service, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
  • Prices. New prices apply to new subscriptions when published. For existing subscribers, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase applies, and it will take effect from your first renewal after the notice period. You can cancel before then.
  • These Terms. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the Service before a material change to these Terms takes effect. If you do not agree to the change, you can cancel before it takes effect. Other changes, such as clarifications or changes required by law, take effect when posted. The "Last updated" date above shows when these Terms last changed.

9. Accuracy of job data

  • Hirebase Data comes largely from third-party sources, including employer career pages and applicant tracking systems, and is processed by automated systems, including AI models. Listings may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate, and employers can change or remove them at any time. Derived fields, such as salary estimates and classifications, are estimates.
  • We do not verify every listing or employer and are not responsible for the content of third-party listings or for any hiring decision.
  • You are responsible for how you display and use Hirebase Data, including complying with the laws of the markets you operate in, such as job advertising, pay transparency, anti-discrimination and consumer protection laws.

10. Your content

  • You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as resumes, cover letters, search queries and uploaded files ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and analyze Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the Service to you, for example to match jobs to your resume, and to keep the Service secure. We do not publish Your Content, use it in our marketing or sell it.
  • You confirm that you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • You can delete Your Content or your account at any time.

11. Termination and data retention

  • You can stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms and, where the breach can be fixed, do not fix it within 14 days of our notice. We may terminate immediately for serious or repeated abuse.
  • When your account ends, your licence ends. You must stop using the Service and, within 30 days, delete any Hirebase Data stored on your systems. This does not apply to datasets bought as one-off purchases (section 4), to aggregated or derived insights that do not contain and cannot be used to reconstruct individual listings or Contact Data, or to copies you must keep by law. Data in backups may remain until overwritten in the ordinary course, but you must not use it.
  • Sections 4 (restrictions and ownership), 5, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and Hirebase Data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from harmful components, or that any Hirebase Data will be accurate, complete or current.

13. Limitation of liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flok LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Flok LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from any third-party claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your use of Hirebase Data (including Contact Data) in breach of these Terms or applicable law, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
  • Any legal action relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
  • If you are a consumer living in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. General

  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order form, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
