Job Description
Astera Labs is seeking a Principal Lab Validation Engineer to root-cause customer quality concerns and develop corrective actions. The role involves direct troubleshooting of circuit, package, firmware, and protocol-level issues, as well as analyzing high-speed link failures and developing testing improvements. Collaboration with design, validation, and system engineering teams is crucial.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant experience (5+ hands-on with protocol analyzers/BERT)
- Python programming skills
- Deep understanding of PCIe protocol (up to Gen6)
- Experience debugging retimers
- Experience debugging PCIe switches
- Solid background in NRZ/PAM4 architectures
- Experience in post-silicon validation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
