Austal USA is a ship manufacturer headquartered in Mobile, Ala., with service centers in San Diego and Singapore and a technology center in Charlottesville, Va. Austal USA is currently under contract for several programs, including the U.S. Coast Guard’s Heritage-class Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), and the U.S. Navy TAGOS-25 ocean surveillance ship, Spearhead-class Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF), Navajo-class Towing, Salvage and Rescue ship (T-ATS), Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessel, Expeditionary Medical Ship (EMS), Auxiliary Floating Dry Dock Medium (AFDM), and Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programs. Austal USA’s San Diego Service Center includes a waterfront facility that will have the capability to drydock small combatants and similar sized ships. 8+ years of experience in 3D modeling, 10+ years of shipyard design experience, CAD degree preferred
Crane Operator
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience as an overhead crane operator in a shipyard environment or similar industry, along with experience as an operator of vertical lift and telescopic boom F/L's, and ability to interpret and utilize load charts
Quality NDT Inspector II
High school diploma/GED, 1-3 years of experience, Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) methods
Weld Process Engineer II Additive Manufacturing - AAT
7 years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology
Project Scheduler
Minimum 4 years of experience with Primavera software, strong EVMS knowledge, and excellent communication skills
Test & Activation Specialist II
2-4 years of test and activation experience, test training, and ability to work in a shipyard environment
Electrical Engineering Manager
7+ years of design and/or construction experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, and thorough knowledge of ship and propulsion systems
Electrical Manager - Submarines
10 years of shipbuilding experience, 5 years of electrical experience, 5 years of management experience
A Class Pipe Fitter
1 year of experience as a B-class pipe fitter, pass A-class pipe fitter tests, basic math skills, and ability to read and write
Pipe Lead Foreman
5+ years supervision experience, shipbuilding experience, and US Navy contract experience required
