Legal Advocate (less than 20 hours/week) Trumbull County

This Legal Advocate position is limited in hours and focuses on emergency intervention for victims of domestic violence in crisis. The role involves providing support, advocacy, and court accompaniment, as well as referring victims to resources. The advocate will schedule flexible work.

Requirements

• Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics
• Ability to work in a stressful/crisis-oriented environment
• Knowledge of the civil/criminal court system
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability
• Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation)
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to model open communication and management of conflicts
• Ability to work as a team member
• Must have transportation and be willing to travel
• Must be able to meet agency requirements for handling trauma
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and stand for extended periods of time
