Job description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Optical Engineer to join our EO/IR Capability Group, developing innovative hardware solutions for our program portfolio. The role involves designing, analyzing, and measuring optical subsystems, and working in a fast-paced environment with significant growth opportunities.
Responsibilities include developing optical subsystem schedule/budgets, designing and analyzing optical subsystems, and testing and validating prototype assemblies. The successful candidate will have experience designing optical systems, specifically for lens designs and other complex EO/IR optical designs.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding in one or more of the following: Optics, Laser, Material Science, Precision Pointing, Optical Lens Systems, Imaging Systems. They will be comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams, presenting current program work to customers, and contributing to proposals for new projects.
