Job Description
The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for providing surgical instrumentation to the operating room and other areas. This role involves instrument disassembly, cleaning, sterilization, and supply storage. The position is both a Scrub Tech role and can also be a full-time position within the SPD area.
Requirements
- Performs all responsibilities/duties of the Sterile Processing Department as defined in the scope of service.
- Performs Scrub Tech duties as defined in the scope of service.
- Performs routine and assigned tasks of inspecting case carts, instruments, and supplies, and storing items in the appropriate place in the SPD.
- Acquires needed items and delivers them to the operating room.
- Cleans and restocks the sterile core.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
- Pursues professional growth and development.
