Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

What You Will Do

Build and maintain data architectures, pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure accurate, accessible, and secure data. Develop processing and analysis algorithms, collaborate with data scientists, and lead a team to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Expertise of ETL technologies preferably Ab Initio
• Experience of distributed computing architecture, Core Hadoop components (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, HIVE, Impala)
• AWS hands-on Experience with Lambda, S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, CloudFormation etc.
• Expertise in shell scripting and programming (Scala/Python)
• SQL, advanced SQL skills
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing
• Knowledge of data transformation and data quality tools
• Previous working experience within banking or financial services domain
