Job Description
The Berks County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sheriff is responsible for performing general duty work protecting citizens and upholding the law. They are expected to exercise discretion, uphold the laws of Pennsylvania and the US, and uphold court orders. Training is critical for success.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certification
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- Passage of background investigation and driver’s license test
- Completion of Deputy Sheriff’s training
- Completion of Act 2 certification
- Successful completion of a TASER certification
