Job Description
Join the growing BILH team and make a difference in people’s lives as a Histology Technician. Key responsibilities include preparing tissue specimens, performing special staining procedures, and communicating with providers regarding specimen problems.
Requirements
- Prepare, process, embed, cut, coverslip, stain and mount tissue specimens
- Perform special staining procedures, including IHC on tissue and quality control slides
- Accession specimens for Pathology and Cytology in the computer
- Maintain work area in a clean and safe manner
- Attend laboratory meetings, in-service education meetings and educational seminars
- Train new employees and intern staff in assigned area of expertise
- Dispose of specimens in correct manner
- Dispose of hazardous chemicals in a safe and appropriate manner
