Histology Technician

Join the growing BILH team and make a difference in people’s lives as a Histology Technician. Key responsibilities include preparing tissue specimens, performing special staining procedures, and communicating with providers regarding specimen problems.

Requirements

• Prepare, process, embed, cut, coverslip, stain and mount tissue specimens
• Perform special staining procedures, including IHC on tissue and quality control slides
• Accession specimens for Pathology and Cytology in the computer
• Maintain work area in a clean and safe manner
• Attend laboratory meetings, in-service education meetings and educational seminars
• Train new employees and intern staff in assigned area of expertise
• Dispose of specimens in correct manner
• Dispose of hazardous chemicals in a safe and appropriate manner
