Senior Software Developer C++ (Program Principal Engineer )

Black Canyon Consulting is searching for a Senior C++ Software Developer to support work for the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM). This is a full-time, onsite opportunity at the NIH-NCBI in Bethesda, MD, with the option for remote work. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain bioinformatics software and information retrieval systems, working with a diverse team of scientists and developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience handling large amounts of data or working in a distributed computing environment
• Programming experience in a Linux environment
• Proficiency in C++
• Experience with MS SQL server and relational database design and optimization
• Fluency in some scripting languages such as BASH, csh, Perl, or Python
