Operations Manager Structural Component Fabrication

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will process and program large and small structural components supporting assembly, of flight hardware for various spaceflight systems.

Requirements

• Manage the Structural Fabrication shops
• Develop resource plans and profiles
• Authorize job descriptions
• Conduct interviews and make hiring recommendations
• Assign tasks and conduct performance reviews
• Train and develop critical machining processes
• Setup new production work areas
• Direct hands-on experience in multiple-axis machining, turning, and grinding centers
• Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications
• Develop and implement cost reduction processes and efficiency improvement measures
• Implement and refine new manufacturing processes
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes
• Collaborate with engineering to develop production-ready manufacturing approach
• Review work instructions and provide recommended changes
• Assure continued training and skills development
• Assist with transition from development to production
• Forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedule
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
