The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), will be responsible for assisting the provider in preparing patients and their charts for clinical appointments. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to managing the flow of clients through the clinic, obtaining vital signs, and assisting the provider in clinical procedures.
Requirements
- Prepare client charts/information for the provider appointments
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Complete a thorough medication reconciliation
- Track and coordinate data pertinent to client plan of care
- Provide medication education and care instructions
- Complete phone calls
- Manage patient medication assistance process
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and procedures
- Use standard precautions/OSHA guidelines in patient care and disposal of medical waste
- Complete and submit billing documents
- Review all outpatient medication storage and administration locations for monthly pharmacy review
- Track and log refrigerator temperatures and equipment maintenance
- Complete continuing education to maintain medical assisting certification
