Job description
Bretton AI is seeking a Founding Design Engineer to own the production layer of the product's interface and serve as the guardian of the design system in code. The role requires significant production front-end experience, fluency in React, TypeScript, semantic HTML, and modern CSS, and active use of AI-coding tools.
Own the design system in code, ship the production version of design-heavy work, make agent behavior legible, and partner with the product designer on direction.
The ideal candidate has a systems mindset, cares for performance, accessibility, and reliability, and is comfortable collaborating with a product designer, engineers, and compliance domain experts.
