Role Overview

Join the Hill Laboratory in the Infection and Global Health Division at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute. The position aims to integrate structural and functional knowledge about antibody responses to Streptococcus pyogenes virulence factors to inform development of vaccines and therapeutics.

What You Will Do

Characterise antibody recognition of bacterial toxins or vaccine antigens using biophysical techniques, conduct laboratory research, data analysis, project management tasks, and administrative tasks to support laboratory operations.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The successful candidate will be expected to co-supervise and/or mentor postgraduate students and other junior team members, and support other research projects in the laboratory.

Requirements

• PhD in Protein Biochemistry, Structural Biology or equivalent
• Demonstrated analytical and manuscript preparation skills
• Strong project management abilities
• Experience in biophysical techniques to characterise protein-protein interactions
• Experience in determining protein structures through X-ray crystallography and/or Cryo-EM
