Steamfitter

The position of Steamfitter, part of a United Food and Commercial Workers Union-Local 175, is a unionized hourly position. The Steamfitter will be responsible for maintaining the plant's equipment, performing maintenance tasks, and assisting in construction and fabrication projects. This role supports a variety of safety and technical training, and may involve inspection, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems.

Requirements

• Current and valid 307A Certificate of Qualification in the province of Ontario
• CWB welding certificates are an asset
• Knowledge of Food Safety Programs (HACCP and GMP) is an asset
• Prior experience as a Steamfitter / Pipefitter in an industrial setting - 2 to 5 years
• Able to read and interpret shop prints, engineering drawings and specifications
• Prior experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting piping systems
• Proficiency in Preventative Maintenance; Hand / Power tools; Machine tools; Measurement devices including calipers; Welding and cutting skills; and Basic rigging skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work in exposure to extreme temperature ranges
• Ability to work in areas that are continually exposed to grease, oil, dust, fumes
• Ability to climb and work on ladders
• Ability to work at height
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to safely operate a fork truck
