Technical Project Manager (Contract) - Japan

Butlr is seeking a Technical Project Manager (Contract) based in Japan to lead the execution of on-site sensor deployments and coordinate cross-functional activities from pre-sales through post-installation. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in project management, technical installations, or field operations, with a strong technical aptitude and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in project management, technical installations, or field operations
• Strong technical aptitude; familiarity with IoT, sensors, mesh networks, or smart building technologies
• Excellent communication skills, with experience interfacing directly with customers and executive stakeholders
• Fluent in Japanese and proficient in English (written and spoken)
• Proficient in managing contractors, timelines, and budgets in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently and solving problems on-site
• Basic technical troubleshooting skills; coding/API familiarity is a plus
• Experience implementing technical products, with an engineering or technical degree, and strong background in project management in technology, construction, or smart infrastructure sectors is ideal
