Development Database Administrator

At BWX Technologies, Inc., we are People Strong, Innovation Driven. We are seeking an experienced Development Database Administrator for an onsite position within our secured facility in Erwin, TN. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain databases to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility, supporting our focus on applying technology to solve business problems, supporting a software development team and analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant, hands-on experience
• OR High school diploma/equivalent, plus a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant, hands-on experience
• Comprehensive professional experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and the Microsoft environment
• Strong foundation in designing database permission models using schemas, roles and user accounts
• Technical proficiency in database design and query optimization
• Clear communicator, able to explain logic and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking in resolving technical challenges
• Keen attention to detail
• Self-driven learner who can work independently and collaborate effectively
• Must be U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q and NRC U clearance
