Safety Advisor

Canfor Pulp is seeking a Safety Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate will be laser-focused on safety and have experience in emergency response, confined space entry, and fire protection. The role will involve working in a complex and potentially hazardous environment, requiring a keen eye for spotting hazards and exceptional work ethic.

Requirements

• Responsible for all initial Emergency Response at the Canfor Pulp facilities
• Responsible for the periodic inspections, maintenance and inventory of all Emergency Response equipment
• Manage the Evacuation Program
• Oversee the Confined Space Entry (CSE) Program
• Develop and implement rescue plans for Confined Space Entry (CSE) and Fall Protection
• Responsible for regulatory Fire Protection Inspections
• Management of Marsh Impairment Program and online impairment submissions
• Respond to all illness and injury incidents at CPL
• Participate in incident investigations
• Administer and execute safety initiatives and programs at CPL
• Conduct periodic safety audits
• Oversee respiratory protection programs across facilities
• Manage heat stress testing in facilities
• Conduct area gas sweeps as required by operations
• Oversee the Gas Detector Program
• Administration of the Hot Work Program
• Respond to visitor and general inquiries during off-shifts
• Coordination and administration of the Insurance (Marsh) Underwriter Inspections
