Job Description
The Safety Specialist will provide coaching and subject matter expertise to site management and employees on health and safety matters, lead the site in the execution of H&S strategy, and promote a Continuous Improvement Culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in H&S related field or equivalent experience and training
- Professional certification such as Certified Mine Safety Specialist or Certified Safety Professional
- Minimum five years of progressive H&S experience in a mining, manufacturing or construction environment
- Experience with OSHA, MSHA, or other similar regulatory agencies
- Proficient computer skills and working with Microsoft Office software
- Fluency in spoken and written English, fluency in Spanish a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities appropriately
- Able to support a continuous improvement environment and change management initiatives
- Able to travel regularly to cover assigned locations
- Able to develop and conduct training programs
